* Median opening bid of the listings still scheduled. The opening bid covers the back taxes, interest and costs; on a property that was homestead on the latest tax roll, half of its assessed value is added.

How many listings are pulled before the sale

For each past sale day, the calendar as we last read it before the sale. A listing counts as removed if it was on the calendar’s closed or canceled list by then, for any reason — the taxes were paid (redemption), the sale was canceled, or another reason; the calendar rarely says which. Listings removed after our last check are not counted, so these shares are a floor, not a ceiling.

No Pinellas sale day has passed since our reads of its calendar began on September 11, 2026; the first will be October 21, 2026. It will appear here after that sale.

What share of tax deed listings are pulled before the sale in Hillsborough?

How often are tax deed auctions held in Pinellas and Hillsborough?

Pinellas holds its online tax deed sales roughly once a month at 11:00 AM ET (pinellas.realtaxdeed.com). Hillsborough holds them most Thursdays at 10:00 AM ET (hillsborough.realtaxdeed.com).

Can an owner still stop a tax deed sale after it’s on the calendar?

Yes, in most cases. The Hillsborough Tax Collector says an owner can redeem any time before the property is sold at auction, which stops the sale; Pinellas’s Tax Collector also takes redemptions up to the sale. A sale of the house can pay the taxes from the proceeds, as long as the money reaches the Tax Collector before the auction.

Where does this data come from?
